Adopt: The Option started with some questions: Could we change the direction of a large national statistic that has averaged the same numbers over the last ten years?  Could we challenge enough people (students) to think differently because once they heard the evidence, they would be convinced they needed to change.  Could we create an event that would be cost-effective for churches, but so loaded with great stuff that churches would wish every item they bought for their church would be this awesome?  We believe the answers to these questions are yes, yes and yes; respectively.

Adopt: The Option is not just a curriculum resource, it’s a movement who’s time has come.  Adopt: The Option is a resource that gives youth group students the information and the challenge to approach their teenage friends who are pregnant and to share with them the positive aspects of adoption in a gracious and understanding way.

750,000 teenage girls get pregnant every year in the U.S.  Less than 1% of these children born will be placed for adoption; and yet for every one of those children available to be placed for adoption, 20-30 qualified parents are waiting to give that child a healthy and loving home where they can be nurtured to grow up and become something great; that is the statistic we want to change for the better.
